13 colonies brochure
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
5.4 Students understand the political, religious, social, and economic institutions that evolved in the colonial era.
The assignment meets the standard because in this assignment, I needed to talk about the 4 things that are listed in the standard (politics, religions, social, and economy) about one of the 13 colonies I was assigned to research about. For example, I needed to talk about how much people earn for different jobs, who established Rhode Island(colony I was assigned), how people in Rhode Island live and more.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
After completing this assignment, 1 strength I feel like I gained was knowing more about the 13 colonies and specifically Rhode Island because I had to research on that colony. Because I researched about that colony, I knew more about how it became a colony and what kind of things happened in Rhode Island. Also, I got to know the 4 things listed in the standard.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
One area I could've done better on is when I had to research how much the people that lived in Rhode Island earn for what kind of job they have. I just put any number for how much they earn and if I put how much they actually earned, it would be better for me later on because then it would be easier for me when I get a high paying job because I will have more experience finding the income of jobs.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society). Make connections between the content and your life.
I can apply the skills I learned from this assignment in the real world when I have to find information about different states and their religion, economy, politics, and more. This can help me when I travel, so I will know more about the place I am traveling about or will know what to be looking for.
