RL.7.3: Examine how specific elements of a story or drama interact (e.g., how setting shapes the characters or plot).
RL7.2:Think of a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text; provide an
objective summary of the text. The standard relates to the assignment because I had to come up with a theme for the short story and I had to explain why I thought the theme was the theme that I came up with. I also had to explain the setting of the story and the main plot and central idea of the story. I had to provide information about the text like it says in the standard.
2)What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete and do well on this project was to do teamwork with Riah. Since Riah didn't have a prezi, and we couldn't be on it on the same time, we had to communicate by calling each other and assigning a time for us to work on it. I had to read the story about two times because I had to find information from the text to answer some questions from the plot map worksheet. To make sure I did all the right things for the prezi, I had to look over the scoring sheet to see if I had missing information to add and to fix things I got wrong. I had to find pictures from the internet to put it up on prezi that relates to the things that I wrote about. To make sure everything was right and in the correct order, I asked Ms. Kim a lot of questions so that I could get a good grade on the prezi.

This assignment demonstrates that I can do teamwork and finish a project before the day it is due. It also demonstrates that I can extract important information from the text and write about it and explain what it is all about. In the prezi, I had to put a lot of evidence and quote to prove that my answers were reasonable and correct. That means that I can find important and accurate quotes from the text to prove that my answers are correct and that I can prove that it is correct. My last strength is that I can follow all the steps there were in the score paper and that I can revise some things that I got wrong on.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by …
I could've improved on my work by describing the characters more and telling more about their personalities. I should've added more pictures of the quotes in the prezi and about the main idea. since I did asked Ms. Kim a lot of questions, I should've asked her less questions so she doesn't feel tired of answering too much questions. I could've added some vocabulary words to show that my prezi I professional and that I can use hard vocabulary words to describe thing. I should've organized my prezi better and try to put more information in some slides because some of them only had like 1 or 2 sentences. The last thing I could've improved on is that I should've made sure about things with Riah because we didn't really talk about the prezi together and I wish we talked about it and thought of what we were going to do for it before hand so it would be easier and faster to finish.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will apply the things I learned from this assignment to when I have to make other prezis and also when I am doing a reading counts test because I had to look for information in the book to answer questions. Also when I am writing a summary, or essay about the main ideas of the story I can look back at what I did and get some ideas from there. When I get a job and have to do presentation for why and how I got into the job, I can relate and also think about the things that happened that got me into doing the things in the job. Same thing for when I want to go to the EOTY LEL, I can write an essay about why I think I should be able to go there.
