1. Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
7.RP.A.1 Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction 1/2/1/4 miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour. This assignment relates to the standard because I needed to find the unit rate of the leaking faucets. Also, they relate because I did have two different units and I needed to find he unit rates for time.
2. What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete and do well on this assignment is to look at the packet Ms. Ha gave the class. I had to paraphrase the questions and put it on the poster and I had to answer it on the poster. After that, I had to glue in the papers that had the questions and answers onto the poster and then decorate it.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths…
This assignment demonstrates that I can determine the unit rates of anything that has specific times. Also, it shows that I can decorate my poster and that I can relate the decoration to the topic of the project.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by …
I could've improved on this project by decorating the poster a little bit better by making it more colorful instead of making it all blue. Also, I should've added more work to show that I did everything and that I didn't need a lot of help from other people.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will apply this skill I learned from this assignment to when I have to know the unit rate of anything. For example, I can use this skill to find the unit rate of how many miles I can swim in 1 hour if I swam 12miles in 5 hours. This will help me to keep track of how fast or anything I can do in the limit time.
