"Go Big, Papa? Winter Vacation Poster Project"
7.EE.4a - Solve word problems leading to equations of the form px + q = r and p(x + q) = r, where p, q, and r are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?

Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width? This assignment relates to the standard because I had to make and solve equations using variables. Also, I had to show my work and also make sure it was right.
.2.What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete and do well on this assignment is to first read the questions and make sure that I understood the question so that I could answer the questions. The next step was to make charts and also look at Ms. Orellana's weebly to get examples of what to do for the project. I had to make equations and answer them correctly so that I can get a passing score on this assignment. The last thing I did was to double check my work and to make sure I put the right coupons on the places that it belongs to.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths…
This assignment demonstrates that I can make equations and make sure that they are correct so that I can get the right answers. Also, it demonstrates that I can calculate the math correctly and also double check the work to make sure I got the answer right. This project shows that I can make charts and fill it out correctly and also, I can compare coupons and see which ones are the better buy and to see how much money I can save the most and least.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by …
I could've improved my work on this assignment by organizing it more and making it cleaner. I also could've been a little more creative and put the poster board to a pizza shape. Even if I got a 4 on the project, I could've always checked one more time and also print out the charts, so that it can look more professional and so that it can look cleaner.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will apply the skills I learned from this assignment when I want to order something and I have a coupon, I can see the most I can save and the least by doing the math. Also, I can explain to people if they don't understand why this coupon is better than the other and more. Finally, I will use this skill to see if someone is ripping me off by making me use a certain coupon.
