1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.8.8
Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using search terms effectively; assess the credibility and accuracy of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation.
This project meets the standard because we had to find information from different sources and use it to quote or paraphrase data we collected. We couldn't plagiarize so we quoted from the sources to the project.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.
From completing this project, one strength I feel I gained is knowing and understanding the theme of the book Farewell to Manzanar and being able to give information on it using evidence in the book. These skills helped me to better understand the book and what it was about so that it would be easier to write about this book and talk about it. If I could write, about it, I would be able to summarize it into my own words and if I could do that, it means I know what was going on in the book.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
One area of work I could've done better on is the grammar and punctuation part because that is the part I got all 3s in and if I had gotten a 4 on that part, I could've gotten a better and higher score on this project. If I had gotten a better score, my Ela would've gotten up and I could get a better and higher GPA when I graduate.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly connections between the content and your life.
I can apply the content and skills I have learned from this project when I need to make magazines for other subjects. Also I can use the skills I learned to find evidence to prove my answer right when people need proof. Lastly, I can use the skills when I have to summarize something and have to write about the book.
